UPDATE: ECO Career Day 2008 was amazing. We had a record 140 particpants from all over the bay area. I-YEL alumni even came by to help with the vocation rotation, and some were even presenters! The day started off with skits where audience members had to guess what environmental career arrived to the "party ". Then, the participants broke up into their groups and went to their assigned presenter's station. Lunch that day was brought to us by Nextcourse, a company that specializes in organic and healthy foods and the Crissy Field Center's very own Mat Wolf and the Crissy Cafe. After the great day, everything ended with the center's job fair, an innovative event that provides all of the high school youth present with information on other groups and jobs that they might be interested in.Overall? ECO Career Day 2008 was a big success!

Each spring, the Headlands Institute hosts a weekend-long environmental youth conference in the Marin Headlands, just north of San Francisco. High school students from all over the Bay Area come to the coast to participate in and lead workshops about current environmental issues that are affecting their communities. Youth Quest participants also help out the Marin Headlands environment as well by pitching in and helping out with stewardship projects around the park.

UPDATE: Youth Quest 2008 was amazing! This year's I-YEL Education team created a confrence wide election that would select the youth quest president. To determin canidates interns create an election workshop where particpants gained a strong understanding of the presidential election process and what it takes to be a canidate. I-YEL's Outreach team led the morning service project introduction. Interns demonstrated the different comonsetns of the National Parks service logo. Participants then created their own shields that represent what they want the national parks to protect and represent in the future.
